LIMA – IQUITOS – LIMA (5 DAYS / 4 NIGHTS)

Day 1 LIMA – IQUITOS
Early morning transfer to the airport and departure for Iquitos (1½ hour flight). Arrival and transfer to the dock. Leave Iquitos around 10 a.m. and cruise up the Amazon River. Lunch on board while navigating along the river and late afternoon arrival at the mouth of the Tahuayo River. Jungle walk and visit to a secured waterfall as well as the tropical vegetation of the area.

Day 2 IQUITOS (Up the Amazon River)
Early wake up for morning birdwatching excursion in the Tahuayo area. After lunch cruise to the Yarapa region, a mired of lakes, small waterways and varied river and land items of interest to view.

Day 3 IQUITOS (Up the Amazon River)
Continuation of our sail up the Amazon to the juncture of the two major tributaries of the upper Amazon basin. The Ucayali and Marañón rivers join there. It is the beginning point of what is called the Amazon River. Sail up a small tributary, the Yarapa River, where there is a good opportunity to spot bird life. Anchor and overnight. Time permitting there will be a dusk excursion by small launch to explore the area.

Day 4 IQUITOS – LIMA
After breakfast, return by speedboat to Iquitos arriving at approximately 1:00 p.m., in time for transfer to the airport and back to Lima. Arrival and transfer to selected hotel.

Day 5 LIMA – NEXT DESTINATION
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to catch the plane for your next destination
