Excursion to Puya Raimondi in the Pachacoto gorge, south of Huaraz. The main attraction in this place is the inflorescence of the Puya Raimondi considered the most beautiful example of the high Andean flora, which grows to an average of 6 to 10 metres/20 to 33 feet and has an inflorescence of over eight thousand flowers.

Llanganuco Lagoons

Early morning departure for a drive north, down the Huaylas Valley to Yungay, a town completely destroyed by an earthquake and avalanche in 1970. Visit the Llanganuco Lagoons, two distinct lagoons located between the snow-covered peaks of the Huascaran and the Huandoy. Their limpid waters run through all shades of green during the course of the day. About two hours later, you will descend to continue your drive down the Valley, passing through the towns of Carhuaz and Caraz. A picnic-lunch is included. Return to Huaraz in the afternoon.
