Day 1 ……… - Iquitos – Sinchicuy Lodge
Arrival in Iquitos, you are greeted at the airport by an expert native guide trained in Amazon ecology. Following an orientation tour of the 19th century colonial city of Iquitos, you board a native Pamacari boat to begin your Amazon adventure. You will be awed by the powerful Amazon river.
The Lodge is set in a tropical garden surrounded by lush jungle vegetation. It is built in the native style and features comfortable bungalows with private bathrooms, kerosene lanterns provide romantic illumination at night. After a delicious lunch at the lodge you visit the orchid farm and insect and butterfly display on the grounds of the lodge.
You then visit the Yagua Indian tribe to learn how they have adapted to the demands and bounty of the jungle and the modern world. The 15th century Spanish explorer Orellana named the Amazon River after tall fair haired female warriors he glimpsed hunting in the rain forest jungle. He was deceived by the long grass wig and skirt of the male Yagua Indians.
You board a Pamacari boat for an in-depth learning excursion on the Amazon, the world's longest river. You visit a riverside family to observe their successful farming techniques which allow them to survive in this fragile and difficult environment.
You go in search of the elusive Amazonian pink dolphin (Inea Geofrensis). As you drift on the Amazon, your guide calls with a peculiar pitched sound that attracts the dolphin. You enjoy a spectacular sunset as you make a leisurely return to the Lodge.
Evening jungle sunset for an informative discussion on night sounds and sights. After dinner your guide may entertain you with stories of Amazonian mythology and legends (Lunch and dinner included)

Day 2 Sinchicuy Lodge

You take the native trails through the jungle learning about the large variety of flora and fauna which is unique to the rain forest and is not found anywhere else in the world. Our guide points out herbal and medicinal plants and instructs you on their use.
After lunch you cross the Amazon to a quiet lagoon; there you can swim and observe traditional fishing methods of the native Indians. You will have the opportunity to fish with them as they use their handmade nets (atarraya) and bamboo fishing, poles.
