Trujillo is a delightful city of old churches and graceful colonial balconies set in a green fertile valley called "The Valley of Eternal Spring" on Peru's northern coast. The town is surrounded by many pre-Inca Mochica and Chimu sites, of which Chan Chan -an enormous adobe city built by the Chimus in the 10th Century- is the best example. To the south are the Temples of the Sun and Moon, built by the Moches who ruled between 200 BC and 600 AD.
