Ancascocha Trek toMachu Picchu (4 days - 3 nights)
This is our favorite alternative to the saturated Inca Trail. This four-day program includes a complete 3-day trek starting in the area of Limatambo, close to the Salkantay snow-capped peak. The trail runs through 2 Mountain passes, high plateaus, Andean communities and glacial lakes, offering awesome views of Mounts Veronica, Salkantay and the Huayanay range. On the third day, it reaches Camicancha, an Andean community close to Chillca, at Kilometer 77 of the Cusco - Machu Picchu railroad, from where early the next day we take the train to Aguas Calientes and visit the Sacred Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. A spectacular route combining awesome mountain scenery and authentic local communities where we will have the chance to meet and get to know Andean families, ending at the world-famous site of Machu Picchu.
Lares Valley to Machu Picchu (4 days - 3 nights)
This less-known hike departs from the Sacred Valley of the Incas to enter a route where amazing mountain scenery, glacier lagoons, valley cloud-forest and authentic textile Quechua communities are combined to finally reach the village of Lares, where you can end the trek by relaxing in its famous hot springs. From Lares we drive to Ollantaytambo and board the train to Aguas Calientes to visit Machu Picchu on day 4 of the program. A unique hike to get in touch with Andean people and learn about their traditions and life-style. Social help is appreciated.
Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu (4 Days/3 Nights )
This amazing trek runs beneath the sacred Salkantay mountain (6.271m/20569ft), one of the highest and most stunning in the Peruvian Andes, passing through Quechua communities and lesser-known Inca ruins, to finally reach Aguas Calientes on the third day. The impressive Sacred Inca city of Machu Picchu is visited on the last day of the program. This itinerary is an interesting alternative for those not having found spaces on the Inca Trail trek toMachu Picchu.
Choquequirao
A spectacular 60 km trek that will lead you to the enigmatic last refuge of the Incas.
