1. AQUA EXPEDITIONS LUXURY AMAZON RIVER CRUISES

Their three and seven-night Amazon cruises sail every Saturday and the four-night cruises depart every Tuesday. The Amazon River cruise you choose will really depend on how much time you have, how long you want to spend exploring the Amazon region and if you prefer to travel during low water or high water season. All Aqua Expeditions’ luxury cruises leave from Iquitos, Peru a bustling town which was once a rich center of the rubber industry.
7-night Amazon Expedition Cruise
We recommend the seven-night Amazon River Expedition Cruise where you will enjoy the most luxurious and comprehensive Amazon journey and on which you can experience the Amazon River’s three powerful tributaries: the Marañón, the Ucayali, and the Puinahua as well as several hidden black water lakes. Combine this cruise with a pre-departure or post-cruise Peru tour of Machu Picchu, Lima and Cusco and you have the makings of an unforgettable Peru luxury vacation.
3-night Amazon Discovery Cruise
The 3-night Amazon Discovery Cruise will take you from Iquitos along the Amazon River to Nauta, followed by the Marañón River and estuaries.
4 -night Amazon Explorer Cruise
The 4-night Amazon Explorer Cruise also starts in Iquitos, but we will take you by land transportation to Nauta where you will board the M/V Aqua or the M/V Aria and then you will explore the Ucayali River and the Amazon River and tributaries.
Amazonia Region Adventures - En Route
Each of the cruises includes many optional 2 to 3-hour excursions into Amazonia. You will have the chance to explore remote Amazon River tributaries, spot monkeys and birds along a jungle trail, visit a local village, go fishing on one of Amazonia’s beautiful lakes, and much more. The M/V Aqua and the M/V Aria are equipped with three and four auxiliary aluminum skiffs respectively that will take you along the waterways, or will ferry you to the landing point for onshore excursions. Each of our excursions is led by a trained and knowledgeable naturalist guide who is fluent in English and/or French. We allow plenty of time for you to explore, listen to your guide’s explanation, and photograph the abundant wildlife.
If there are days when you choose not to go onshore for an exciting jungle expedition, you can stay onboard. Lie back in a lounge chair, breathe in the Amazon air, soak up the sun, read a good book, watch the ever-changing view, and simply experience total relaxation in the heart of the Amazon jungle.
